Stan LynchStan is not only a Burbank native, he is among the few who are also Magnolia Park natives, having been born at the Magnolia Park Hospital on the corner of Maple Street and Magnolia Blvd. Stan's brother, cousin, and friend Tony were all also born there. We are surprised that they haven't declared the building an historical landmark. Educated in the Burbank Schools, Stan is a proud alumnus of John Burroughs High School. He also attended Glendale and Valley Colleges, and California State University, Northridge. He has an AA degree in Journalism and Photography, and both BA and MA degrees from CSUN. Although he has had many jobs during his career, including newspaper reporter and photographer, graphic artist, business owner, and salesman, for the past 9 years Stan has been a substitute teacher in the Burbank School District. Over the years he has been an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Library Trustees, and the City's Child Care Committee. Volunteering at school and active in PTA, Stan has been awarded the Honorary Service Award from Stevenson Elementary School, and the Continuing Service Award from John Burroughs High School. He also served a term as an elected member of the Republican County Central Committee. His hobbies include wood carving, photography, writing, garage sale-ing, and selling on ebay. You can view Stan's ebay auctions by clicking on this link: EBAY Having lived in Burbank all his life, Stan has a unique perspective that only those who grew up here have, on what is happening in our town. Folks may not always agree with his viewpoint, but hopefully they will find his writings informative and entertaining. You can send your comments to Stan via email at Stan@burbankblog.com |
